Composed over a seven-year period from 2008 to 2015, Miranda says Hamilton was originally a hip hop concept album in his head. The show draws heavily from hip hop, as well as R&B, pop, soul, and traditional-style show tunes. WebHamilton holds a special place in my heart, and I believe it has a powerful story to tell. However, I did feel that in some instances, the characters tried a little too hard to put their own spin on things, which disrupted the overall tone of the story.
