For about $5 from ACE hardware, I put together an adapter that adapts from a garden hose directly into the input of the raw water pump. It works well if it doesn't bug you to have to remove the input hose to the raw water pump every time and attach the adapter. I used to run a 10' RIB with a 15hp merc and a semi-surface piercing prop. It ran about 40mph and almost completely out of the water. Guess what, no cooling problems at all.
