WebJun 1, 2008 · I am having a idle issue. Once the motor is warm (350 tbi) the idle wants to surge. I would say that is varies a few 100 rpm. It is idling and then it almost dies, and then goes back to idle. Talked to the guys at the local shop they thought it was the idle air control, replaced that and it made very little change. WebSep 5, 2009 · Turns out there are two very common and easily correctable problems with tbi motors. First, the fuel pumps are extremely picky and prone to fail if run out of fuel. Sometimes it is no big thing, sometimes pressure/volume problems arise. Easy to replace, any junkyard with chevy/gmc trucks has a dozen of them.
